Brown cat with blue eyes

The other weekend my friend called me up and asked if I wanted to go shopping with her and her kids. Now she is the kind of friend that I’d probably go shopping with if we were not friends in the first place (I’d probably be bored silly), so I knew something like this would happen. The truth is, I don’t really do shopping with kids unless I have to and usually if I do it’s just to make the kids shut up, so I’m not going to lie and say that I love shopping with kids.
It was great! The kids were adorable, even though one of them kept telling us how scared he was of all the animals and how we weren’t going to be scared of the animals. The adults on the other hand, were all over the place. We had some laughs. We got to see what kinds of stuff the kids wanted. And in the end we all came home with the same amount of stuff, so not a big deal. But in my opinion we didn’t spend anywhere close to what we would have spent on just one of us, so that was pretty awesome. Plus the kids got to see how cool it was to shop at a big department store and I got to meet a few new people. So for this week’s question I give you…
What did you get the kids for Christmas?
(if you want to play along at home and find your answer here, be my guest. But it is totally optional)
1. How did you get the kids? Did you bribe them?
I didn’t bribe them. I just sort of did it and when I had them all they couldn’t say no. They were pretty excited to be shopping with me too!
2. Do you let them open the presents before you open them for you?
I let them open the gifts for us but I have them open one present each. They have a hard enough time wting for presents for themselves, so we don’t really add to that by having them open more.
3. How did you pick out the presents? Did you let them pick out all of them or only some of them?
I let them pick out all of them. They don’t know what’s on each of our lists but they picked out two things each. If they really have a hard time, I take them to the gift sle and show them what the kids like to get and have them pick the gifts out.
4. Do you let them have any say in what they get? Do they get the same gift every year?
No. They get something totally different every year. They pick two gifts to get from Santa, one for them and one for their grandparents. And they don’t get the same gift. I don’t know if they know what they’re getting in advance or not.
5. Do they like presents as much as you do?
I hope they do. I just let them open the presents. When they were younger, I would let them open it and they didn’t care that much. Now they are a little older so they get a little sad when we open something up. They know it’s Santa for sure so they like it.
There you have it! How did Santa’s Little Helpers decide to get their own Santa, their own Christmas, their own Christmas tree and their own Christmas presents? So cute and so sweet. Maybe they don’t realize Santa’s Little Helpers can help do all that, too.
Are you working on getting your own Santa this year? Can Santa’s Little Helpers help out? Do you have any Santa Christmas traditions that you would like to share with me? Post them in the comments and let’s keep the conversation going!
Thank you for leaving me a comment! I read each and every one and love that we can do this together! Please feel free to grab the button below and put it on your blog. Thank you! Have a wonderful day and may Santa be generous!
I didn’t take my girls to visit Santa, but instead, at each year, I take them to see the Christmas tree. I love that they get the feeling of Christmas even though they don’t receive Santa gifts. We had an elf last year. He was funny and very silly.
Santa’s Little Helpers are really cute! I love the first time photo! I hope you all enjoy the Holiday season as much as I do!
